Project Description
The College of West Anglia required refurbishment of its 9-storey tower block building as part of the overall Kings Lynn campus redevelopment in Norfolk. The refurbishment included a Ground Floor extension to provide new social and dining areas. It was also the desire of the college to upgrade means of escape facilities within the existing building shell to consider the high numbers of mobility impaired students and staff.
DFC were appointed by the college as a part of the design and build team to develop a fire strategy for Building Regulations approval and to provide ongoing design advice and monitoring throughout the construction stage, resulting in an as-built fire strategy report.
