Project Description
VITA Southampton is a student residential development on Portswood Road. DFC worked closely with Architecture PLB on behalf of Select Property Group, to develop an efficient scheme set over three blocks around a central courtyard. Services included early design development, provision of a fire strategy and supporting advice to the design team, and were underpinned by CFD to facilitate extended travel distances. Building Regulations approval was sought and attained, and DFCwere retained client side to ensure Morgan Sindall and the design team met the client’s operational fire safety and asset protection requirements. Other key issues included fire service access and consultation, analysis of the lightweight steel frame construction, and review of cladding details.
