Project Description
Gore Street consists of 3 residential towers of heights between 35m to 65m, each provided with a single stair delivering a total of 364 apartments. Ground to Level 01 of the site provides residents’ car parking, commercial units with residents’ external terrace above and 11 independent multi-storey townhouses.
To protect the single stair approach whilst optimising shaft provision, a corridor smoke ventilation strategy tailored to the layout and changing floor-plates of each residential tower had to be developed. CFD analysis and a review into car park fires were carried out as part of this process.
DFC developed the site wide fire strategy with the design team from RIBA Stages 2 to 4 and continued providing fire engineering advice through construction.
