Project Description
The Salford Atelier development is a part of The English Cities Fund (ECF) £1bn Salford Central masterplan. As well as Salford Atelier, DFC has also provided Fire Safety Engineering services for the nearby ECF’s Valette Square development.
Salford Atelier is a mixed-use development, comprises 167 apartments located over four blocks between four and six-storeys above ground, commercial space at ground and a row of eleven three-storey townhouses.
We developed a detailed fire strategy supported with modelling through Computational Fluid Dynamics to assist the client and design team in producing a design to ensure the functional objectives of the Building Regulations 2010 and Part B were achieved. The project achieved the appropriate balance of design intent and fire safety, using fundamental fire safety engineering principles.
