DFC Opens Sheffield Office
DFC are pleased to announce the opening of the DFC Sheffield office.
We have taken office space in the Grade II* listed Globe Works building in the Neepsend area of Sheffield, part of the Kelham Island Industrial Conservation Area.
The building, originally a cutlery works using the famous Sheffield steel, was built in 1825 and is one of England’s oldest surviving cutlery and tool factory buildings. The building was renovated in the late 1980s to provide modern office space.
DFC has chosen to set up home in the Kelham Island Quarter, one of Sheffield’s eleven designated quarters due to the fascinating history and architectural significance of some of the buildings. We are also involved in the regeneration in this part of the city, having previously been involved with the Citu development at Green Lane Works (Little Kelham) and currently working on the Urbo West Bar masterplan redevelopment behind the Law Courts.
The intention is to grow a team that can service both the growing Sheffield development market as well as strengthen our involvement in wider areas such as Derby and Nottingham, evidenced by our previous and current projects; Vita Nottingham, Vita Guildhall and Becketwell Derby.
The expansion into Sheffield will be led by Iain Macfarlane:
“This represents a really exciting growth opportunity for us in Sheffield. Having a physical presence in the ‘steel city’ will help us serve both our existing projects here, but also forge relationships with new clients and architects. There are some ambitious developments in the pipeline, both new build developments transforming previously disused areas of the city but also a real desire to bring back to life some of the incredible industrial architecture that Sheffield’s reputation was built upon”
If you are interested in career opportunities in our new Sheffield office, please send a CV and covering letter to careers@dfc.co.uk
