Nabila Rahman Joins DFC
We are pleased to extend a warm welcome to Nabila, who joins DFC as a Graduate Fire Engineer. Nabila recently completed her Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.
Nabila’s introduction to the field of fire engineering occurred during a careers fair, where she was first introduced to DFC and the broader fire industry. This initial encounter kindled her interest and set her on a path of curiosity about the role of a fire engineer, particularly in how the psychological behaviour of individuals during dangerous situations influences the design of fire safety features.
Throughout her academic journey, Nabila engaged in modules such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and advanced safety engineering. These courses helped her develop technical knowledge on how fire spreads and different methods of risk management. She looks forward to using her transferable engineering skills to diverse projects within DFC.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Nabila loves travelling, immersing herself in new cultures, and delving into crime novels. Additionally, she has a liking for culinary exploration, regularly experimenting with new recipes and creating engaging food content.
Nabila has commented: “On my first week I had the chance to go to Edinburgh with the whole team! As a new starter, it was overwhelming at first, however the trip was a great ice breaker for me to get to know everyone. The team were extremely welcoming, especially Tina who made sure I was comfortable with everything.”
