Project Description
The restoration of the Howard Assembly Room was a comprehensive heritage project. This 350-seat performance venue houses Opera North. The project involved the renovation and rejuvenation of the Grade II listed, two-storey Howard Assembly Room building, and the expansion of the four-storey Premier House building.
DFC played a key role in the project by providing expertise in developing fire strategy documents from start to completion, to support a value engineering initiative. Our contributions included offering design advice, collaborating with the client and their facilities team to devise efficient operational responses to potential fire incidents, and creating detailed evacuation plans and procedures.
