Project Description
Manchester’s St. Michael’s is a landmark development, comprising two distinct projects: No.1, a 183,000 sq ft human-centric commercial office space whilst No.2 is a hotel/residential led development. DFC has been appointed to provide fire engineering services on both.
No.1 offers a sustainable office space, featuring ground-floor retail and a rooftop restaurant. The development includes the retention of the existing 1930s Manchester City Police HQ which is being renovated and incorporated into the main scheme, presenting unique fire engineering challenges. Other key fire engineering challenges include structural fire engineering of new and existing structure, interconnectivity with No.2 St Michael’s and the surrounding public square and tenancy splits.
