A look ahead into 2016
On the first working day of 2015, we sat down and assessed what the year would bring for DFC and what we felt our targets should be for the year ahead.Looking back on those notes from that day, I raise a smile.
Our targets were modest, we talked about assessing the market conditions for recruitment but not necessarily actively pursuing new team members. We talked about researching office space in Leeds with a view to moving into the city towards the end of the year, and we made a number of financial projections as to where we though we might be. We talked about regions we were interested in moving into and we identified some key people we would like to work with.
It seems 2015 was the year of acceleration for us, following a strong start in the Spring, by the beginning of August we had taken space in Leeds city centre, creating a new home for our business. By mid-August we had taken on our first team member. Our workload was increasing rapidly and we were very excited to expand our leadership team with two new partners in November and December. Our project portfolio was growing in breadth and depth and we delivered some fantastic work with great clients.
Tomorrow marks our first working day of 2016 and we will be taking a similar look forward into the year ahead. What will 2016 bring? We know we are opening a Manchester office when we find suitable premises and we have a strong workload ahead of us. We have an excellent client portfolio on some really exciting projects in new regions and sectors.
The first working day of 2017 will be interesting when we look back and see how 2016 was for our business! Until then, I thank our clients for their continued support into 2016. Our first goal is to continue to deliver our projects with the same level of integrity, detail and commitment as our clients have come to expect. From there, well, let’s see… watch this space!
