Project Description
DFC have been appointed to provide fire safety advice from concept stage. The initial project is an 8 storey residential and commercial scheme which will attach to the existing ice rink.
The ice rink creates a number of fire safety challenges both during construction and in the final condition that the DFC team are engaged to resolve. Existing escape routes and fire tender access must be maintained during construction.
Extended residential travel distances of almost 30m are made possible by enhanced smoke ventilation to the common corridors. This increases occupant and fire fighter safety whilst also enabling greater scheme efficiency.
Open plan apartments are a key client requirement that DFC are enabling.
