Project Description
The project involved the development of a flight training facility for Jet2.com, and comprises 5 flight simulators, a crew training area, and two storeys of training room accommodation.
DFC was appointed by Jet2.com to develop the fire strategy for the facility though to building completion. The primary challenge of the strategy was working with the client’s insurer to minimise the potential impact on the high-value flight simulators from a fire occurring in the ancillary accommodation. This used passive fire protection and localised gas suppression, to minimise smoke damage and avoid the installation of sprinklers that would cause damage to the assets.
