Project Description
Skipton House is a nine-storey commercial development in Elephant & Castle, London. DFC developed a pre-planning fire strategy to support the scheme and ensure that Part B Building regulations compliance can be achieved post-planning. Key fire safety challenges include the inclusion of an open plan Ground Floor with a high degree of connectivity, and advising on a range of tenancy split options which require escape along open atrium balconies. Furthermore the adjoining Elephant & Castle underground station require detailed facade analysis. The inclusion of an atrium, with associated open circulation stair required fire engineering assessment, leading to the flexibility of future increases in building occupancy loads if required.
