Project Description
DFC has been involved with the continued development of The O2 since 2010, although two of the Directors have been involved from the initial redevelopment in 2003 delivering the fire safety engineering strategy of the world leading 20,000 seat multi-purpose O2 arena operated by AEG.
As the development of The O2 moved into its second major phase in 2016, the design and construction of a £60m designer retail village around the arena, DFC adapted the fire safety engineering strategy to ensure the successful integration of the new scheme with the constraints of The O2 and the existing fire protection systems. In addition to the design at project completion, further fire engineering challenges include ensuring the continued operation of The O2 arena and other existing buildings within The O2 during the 24 month construction period.
