DFC Welcomes Faith, Mussain and Aswathi
We are delighted to welcome the latest additions to our growing team, bringing a fresh wave of talent to the company. Joining us are Faith Ojomo, an Apprentice Engineer, and two Graduate Engineers, Mussain Musafar and Aswathi Prakasan.
Faith Ojomo, Apprentice Engineer, Manchester
Faith recently joined DFC as an Apprentice in Manchester. Having studied A-Levels in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology at Aquinas College in Stockport, she has developed a passion for science and an ambition to pursue a career in fire engineering. Driven by a strong sense of responsibility and a desire to make a positive impact, Faith is committed to developing the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this challenging and rewarding career as a fire engineer.
Faith is excited to begin her university degree in Fire Safety Engineering while gaining hands-on experience through her apprenticeship at DFC. She looks forward to learning more about complex topics such as fire dynamics and safety regulations. She is also eager to gain a deeper understanding of fire behaviour and the science behind fire suppression systems. With a strong passion for fire safety engineering, Faith is enthusiastic about learning from experienced professionals and meeting new people through her university course.
Outside of work, Faith enjoys baking and cooking, and she is a big fan of film. She also loves running and partaking in physical activities.
Mussain Musafar, Graduate Engineer, Manchester
Mussain holds a Master’s in Fire Safety Engineering from Ulster University, Belfast, and a Bachelor’s in Safety and Fire Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology in India.
During his master’s, Mussain gained an in-depth understanding of several key topics, including fire dynamics, structural fire engineering, computational fluid dynamics, human behaviour in fire, and both active and passive fire protection. For his dissertation, he focused on investigating fire smoke dynamics in BIPV double-skin facade systems through numerical modelling.
With a background in Occupational Health and Safety, Mussain’s strong foundation has fuelled his interest in public safety and inspired him to pursue a career in Fire Engineering.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading and attending concerts on weekends.
Aswathi Prakasan, Graduate Engineer, Leeds
Aswathi recently joined DFC in Leeds. She holds an MSc in Fire Safety Engineering from Ulster University, Belfast, and a Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Fire Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology in India.
Aswathi has experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), and fire safety at an alumina refinery as an Assistant Manager, where she was responsible for overseeing the facility’s safety operations. Her master’s dissertation, titled “Optimisation of Longitudinal Ventilation in Tunnels: A CFD Study on the Influence of Fire Load and Jet Fan Characteristics for Enhanced Smoke Management”, highlights her understanding of fire dynamics and tunnel safety, exploring how various design parameters of jet fans and fire loads affect tunnel fire safety.
In her spare time, Aswathi loves to travel and explore new places and cultures.
