We have recently welcomed Fergus Hamilton-Blackett to DFC. Fergus has joined as a Graduate Fire Engineer, based in our London office.

Fergus holds an MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. Fergus was first exposed to fire safety engineering during a six-month industrial placement with an environmental building services engineering company where he worked on large scale residential developments. This initial interest in fire safety engineering was developed through a number of elective courses at university, including an insight to current fire safety legislation and associated guidance. His background in mechanical engineering, paired with experience working in MEP design on large scale residential developments, allows Fergus to approach his projects at DFC with a fresh perspective.

Outside of work Fergus plays two team sports: Football and Korfball. When he’s not playing a very mainstream or niche sport, Fergus enjoys the occasional run which doubles up as a creative outlet!
