We are pleased to welcome Gretchen Xie to DFC as a Graduate Fire Engineer, she will be based in our Manchester office. Gretchen recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc in Structural and Fire Safety Engineering.

Gretchen has a background in Building Surveying with experience in commercial buildings and railway design construction projects in Malaysia, where she became motivated in developing a career in Fire Engineering after an opportunity in rail tunnel fire designs. She looks forward to broadening her knowledge of fire safety engineering through a wide range of projects at DFC.

Outside of work, Gretchen loves exploring nature and learning new things. She enjoys trekking and swimming. One of the most breathtaking places she has been to is the Everest Base Camp in Nepal!
