DFC is delighted to announce that Merl Forrer has joined our team in Manchester. Merl moves over to the consultancy side of the industry after 19 years in the Fire Service.

A Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), Merl has a Masters degree in Fire Engineering and brings a wealth of experience in operational firefighting and regulatory consultation to the team. He has represented the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) on the post-Grenfell Dame Judith Hackett working groups and BSI acting on behalf of the Fire Service.

He has recently specialised in the detail and review of external wall systems, including being involved in several full-scale BS8414 tests. He also brings significant experience of product and material testing to the team.
